Reduce the size of your meals
slowly. If you make a sudden, drastic change to the portion size, your body will think that it has not eaten enough after a meal, and will compensate by reducing the rate that it uses energy. By reducing the portions a little at time, your body will have time to adjust, and you will not be tempted to eat more.
When considering a diet that provides an adequate nutrition level, be aware of items that you may commonly add to your food that will either nullify its health benefits or add unnecessary fat or calories. Some items to watch out for are ranch dressing, coffee creamer and sour cream.
Use red pepper flakes to
suppress your hunger. Red pepper is inexpensive and can be found at most grocery stores and supermarkets. Experts have found that it is capable of suppressing hunger. Put red pepper flakes in your own meals, once or twice a day, to kill your own cravings.
Get rid of clothes that do not
fit you anymore. Motivate yourself to keep the weight off by only buying clothes that fit your body now. Remove any clothes that are now too large for you from your wardrobe. You can donate them to charity or sell them for a tidy sum.
