Story

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.

On the 9th September 2008 we set out from Lands End intending to cycle to John O'Groats over the following nine days to raise money for the DORSET KIDNEY FUND. This was in excess of 100 miles each day! The average age of our cycling team was 52 yrs with two of our number over 60 yrs and each team member was covering the entire route. We knew that the trip would be HARD and we also knew that it would pobably HURT for most of the time, but we had spent the previous nine months training and felt that we were all ready for the challenge. Eighteen months ago John gave a kidney to his daughter and it was due to the help and care that they both received from DORCHESTER HOSPITAL that inspired us to make this ride

We completed the ride on the 19th September 2008 having taken 24 hours longer than our original plan. The weather had been our major problem with heavy rain on most days of the ride.

This page will remain open to accept donations until the 9th November 2008
