***Update 25/06/2007******************************************************************
I know it looks as though I've reached my fundraising target, but please do not let this stop you from donating a couple of pounds before the race!
******************************************************************************************
Thank you for even getting as far as this page - it constitutes my first ever attempt at fundraising for charity. On a crazy whim, I just signed up to run 5K in the Race for Life in Cambridge on 8th July, and would really appreciate it if you found a couple of minutes and a credit card to sponsor me.
It was only half an hour ago that I returned from a First Aid duty at the first of this year's races, and I must say it's a truly remarkable event a for a variety of reasons. For one, you've never seen this many different shades of pink in your life!
As it seems to be quite acceptable to walk the 5K, I wouldn't mind an extra challenge, so if you want to offer me a few pounds more for running faster then please email me to arrange a deal. :-) When setting me a target, however, please bear in mind that the current world record for women is at 14:24:53, that the track for Race for Life is mainly cross-country and that there are over 2000 participants in the race.
Here comes the official blurb:
"Events like Race for Life are an important way in which Cancer Research UK is able to fund its life-saving work into preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me - Cancer Research UK will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you."
Many thanks for your support!
