Story
My lovely wife Jayne has lived with cancer since 1997 when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Following almost 10 years of remission the cancer returned in 2007 with secondary tumours identified. After considerable radiotherapy and chemotherapy treatment she survives today although her cancer is incurable. Her treatment protocol now is to give her the best quality of life whilst controlling the spread of the cancer. She is a truly remarkable example of how to cope with this devastating and deadly disease and I cannot praise her enough for her attitude in terms of mental approach and downright refusal to capitulate. The affect on Jayne, me and our children cannot be quantified suffice to say that it has blighted all of our lives. This extends to many of our friends and neighbours emphasising the prevalence of this dreadful disease. The role of Macmillan in supporting cancer victims and their families cannot be understated.
