We use play the power of play to enrich vulnerable children's lives.

Story

With Covid 19 our plans to go to Uganda are on hold, but we want to use the lock down to do something positive.

Both being keen cyclists, we enjoy cycling the lanes and trails of Surrey, but we are always saddened to see litter along the roadside.  So, we are aiming to collect at least 1000 cans for recycling from the verges and hedgerows during our 1 permitted outside exercise,..

Right now, for every £1 we raise, UK Aid will match fund - this additional money will be used to support vital work in the refugee camps in Northern Uganda where people have fled from the conflict in South Sudan.

We've been picking up cans for a while now, but made an official start on March 27th, collecting 101 cans.

In these strange and challenging times, we hope to do something that will make the planet just a little bit better!

A bit about the charity, set up by one of Richard's former students...

Our mission is to ignite every vulnerable child’s potential in East Africa through the power of play! In many communities across East Africa, play is not seen as a priority, despite it being one of the fundamental rights of a child. By increasing access to play and education, we support the long-term health, well-being and employment prospects of children, empowering them to map their own paths to brighter futures. Play gives children their childhoods back, and we believe that every child, everywhere, deserves to enjoy the benefits of play.
