Hello, my name is Richard Brown and I am a fundraiser for The Dyslexia Association. I live and work in Nottingham & the East Midlands
The Dyslexia Association is an independent charity that helps children and adults identify and overcome difficult challenges which are often experienced as a result of dyslexia.
I took up a voluntary post as a Trustee in 2015 to help The Dyslexia Association to support more children and adults. The Dyslexia Association also helps employers to support employees who may be experiencing difficulties in performing at work because of their dyslexia.
I didn't realise that I myself was dyslexic until my daughter was diagnosed. Olivia has been attending tuition at The Dyslexia Association for the past 9 years and she is now in her final year at college, studying a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Dance.
The Dyslexia Association have given Olivia a new lease of life and taught her how to cope with and overcome any challenges she faces. They have offered so much help, guidance and support to our family. We could not have done it without the wonderful people that give up so much of themselves to make a real difference. Thank you Dee, Jane, Ruth and the whole team - you do an amazing job.
I promised myself to give something back so I am cycling 75 miles to raise as much money as possible on Sunday 24th June 2018 at Notts Cycle Live 2018 so please give generously if you can.
1 in 10 of the UK population has dyslexia. There are amazing people such as Jamie Oliver, Paul Smith and Richard Branson who are dyslexic. Give other dyslexic individuals a chance to be just as successful. You probably know at least one person who is dyslexic, so please help donate any amount you can to save this service from closure.
