Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our RNLI-911 Challenge JustGiving page.

Following on from the success of last year's 1st ever
RNLI-911 CHALLENGE we have chosen to embark on a new challenge every year for THE NEXT 6 YEARS until 2024 when the RNLI will be 200 years old!

Our RNLI-911 CHALLENGE 2019 is to focus on SCOTLAND - including the mainland, Shetland, Orkney and the Western Isles.

Visiting all 77 Scottish RNLI Lifeboat Stations (past and present), covering more than 2,800 miles, via 38 ferries, 7 cities and more than 30 places of interest  and all within 19 DAYS!!!

But that is nothing compared to the RNLI stats:-

It costs approx £460,000 PER DAY to run the RNLI with NO funding from the government - only from donations.

The 4,700 brave volunteers lifeboat crew cover 19,000 miles of
coastline operating in over 3,500 hours of darkness. 141,500 lives have been saved since the RNLI was formed in 1824 - with 558 in 2016 alone.

As well as donations via this page we will be seeking sponsorship to drive each leg to a station' campaign fund which will be collected separately and used to put towards a ‘D’ Class Lifeboat  by 2024 - for more information on this please contact us directly at:- shout@rnli-911challenge.co.uk

Smaller donations will be collected here through JustGiving.

It is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
