Story

Hello

Thanks for taking the time to visit my page. I am running the Wigan 10k to raise money for Action for M.E, a charity that provides information and support for people living with the condition, as well as working with professionals to enhance the care and support that people with M.E receive. In addition to this the charity funds pilot research projects to advance knowledge of the illness to improve the lives of the estimated 250,000 people affected by M.E in the UK alone.

I’m doing this for my wife, Lorna who was diagnosed with this life changing illness last year. Before getting ill Lorna was a keen runner, hiker and devoted teacher. She is now unable to work and is mostly housebound. Even the smallest of tasks can leave her completely exhausted and sometimes bedridden. Each day she wakes up in a lot of pain and yet faces the day with a smile and an unwavering determination to get well and get her life back. Any donations would be much appreciated and would mean a lot to Lorna and I.

Thank you

Rob
