Story

Hi Guys,  My husband Robert,  will be running in the Virgin Money London Marathon on the 3rd, October,2021, in aid of the United Kingdom Thalassaemia Society (UKTS) Robert has a set target of £1000 to achieve.

As most of my family and friends know I have Beta Thalassaemia Major, this condition is a inherited Blood Disorder. Since the age of one, I have been dependent on regular blood transfusions to keep me alive. This blood disorder has also presented me with further medical complications.

Throughout my life many of my Thalassaemic blood Brothers and Sisters have struggled with this disorder which brings many challenges to our lives and as we get older it becomes more difficult.

So we are trying to raise as much money and awareness that will help with research and advance the treatment further still for us all, that suffer with this illness and help the UKTS society continuing with their wonderful job in educating the wider public.

Any donation how large and small will be greatly appreciated and also don't forget to share this page to all your family’s and friends and work colleagues.

Thank you for taking the time in reading this and maybe you can even join us on the day to support Robert and cheer him on when he crosses the finish line.

Thank you,

Maria & Robert 😊
