I now have two main reasons for taking on this challenge.   Firstly my mum is currently receiving Chemotherapy at the amazing place that is The Beatson.   Our family are all very grateful for the care that she receives.  Secondly my dad passed away on the 20th June 2016 after a battle with cancer.   It really brought home to me the level of support that families need to care for a loved one at what is a very distressing time.   My dad wanted to stay at home and we did our best to facilitate that.  None of us realised how tough it would be or the level of support we would need.   I am very keen to help both organisations, both of whom can really really help people in many different ways at very difficult times.....if we let them.  The monies raised by Team McKeown will go to The Beatson, funding a new, user friendly reception, which will house a number of agencies who all strive to help people as they fight cancer.   As with my artic trek (although I wasn't drunk when I said I'll do this one) I will pay all costs for the trip so 100% of monies raised will be donated.   Thank you so much for supporting me.
