2019 is my tenth year in the professional wrestling business and to celebrate this occasion, I will be donating all money I earn to the Ark Cancer Centre Charity in memory of my hero and my number 1 fan, my Dad.

Since the day I made my debut in 2009, my Dad was my number 1 supporter. He was never a fan of wrestling before, but he came to every show he could and soon found himself enamoured. He loved the camaraderie amongst the boys and would often turn up at venues early to help out on the ring crew.

Unfortunately, he had been diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma in 2008, but he always down-played it as he was determined not to let it have a greater affect on his life than was necessary.

He undertook two rounds of chemotherapy and one of radiotherapy, the latter required him to be kept in an isolated room at Southampton hospital as there was no treatment facility in Basingstoke.

Like a true champion, he fought bravely and proudly. However, in June 2015, despite never tapping out or giving up hope, he sadly lost the fight.

In his later years, he had been a supporter of the Ark Cancer Centre Charity, so I feel very proud to be able to honour his memory by supporting this great cause throughout 2019.

The new cancer treatment centre has been designed to improve patient experience. It will offer a holistic approach to cancer care by co-location of treatments and support in a safe and human environment. Chemotherapy treatment is already given in Basingstoke and Winchester, but patients have to travel to Southampton or Guildford for radiotherapy. This can mean a journey everyday for up to six weeks when patients are feeling unwell and vulnerable.
