Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

You know how sometimes you say things on the spur of the moment, and have forgotten about it by the time you've finished the sentence?  Well, a while ago I said to some friends "That looks like fun, I might do that."

Sadly the people to whom I made this throwaway comment  remembered it, so I'm walking 25 miles, up hill and down dale, fair weather or foul; ignoring blisters, cramp and chafing in areas that should only ever be shown to a 'significant other' or a doctor; putting up with incessant chatter from my fellow team members (no names, eh Sandie?); and pretending I'm enjoying it when really I am dying inside.

To put this in context, I doubt if all the walking I've done in the past ten years (since I was cruelly excluded from an aspirational career as a professional rugby player by something as minor as a total lack of ability) adds up to 25 miles.  If I ride 25 miles on my motorbike in one go, I consider it to be aerobic activity, ideally to be followed by good lie-down and perhaps a therapeutic massage.

So this will indeed be a challenge...

A few years ago the Mission Gospel Choir made a donation from our Christmas Concert to Reverse Rett, and the person who inspired this donation was nice enough to come and say 'thank you' in person.  So as a charity to benefit from this immense activity, there are none better.  Please look at the Reverse Rett website to see the research being carried out to help fight this horrible disease (www.reverserett.org.uk).

Please give generously, safe in the knowledge that I'll be having a really difficult time completing this walk.
