The Optimum Health Clinic Foundation

We fund research into integrative medicine to improve the lives of people with ME/CFS

Charity Registration No. 1131664

Story

I have made the late decision to take part in Movember and raise money for The Optimum Health Clinic.

The Optimum Health Clinic is an integrative medicine clinic run by those personally affected by ME/CFS/Fibromyalgia. They are currently fundraising for a randomised controlled trial into treatments with the long-term aim of NHS funding being available for those unable to afford treatment.

I was diagnosed with ME/CFS just over two years ago, and the clinic have supported me a lot during that period - both in terms of helping me understand the illness, and in taking steps towards recovery. Due to the fact I struggle to make it up a flight of stairs at times, running a marathon or skydiving to raise money seemed off the cards. So I figured an extra excuse not to bother grooming was a perfect fundraising opportunity. Also given that I spend a large proportion of my time indoors lying down, members of the Banbridge public thankfully won't be subjected to my wirey multi-coloured facial hair. Saying that, I will post an update or two of my mo-gress here. I already have a solid 2-3 weeks pre growth, so by the end of the month Tom Selleck will be asking for his moustache back.

Any donations, big or small, will be greatly appreciated.
