Story
What?
I've pledged to run 50 miles in May in order to raise a bit of money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Yes, on reflection it's a bit of an ambitious target, considering my enthusiasm for running often loses out to my enthusiasm for chocolate and wine.
To keep me on track and make sure I get the miles in, I've also signed up to run the Nottingham 10km race on 28th May (because the thought of embarrassing myself in front of hundreds of people is enough to make sure I stick to some kind of training plan).
So that's 6.2 miles sorted, at least. Just the other 43.8 to go.
Why?
OutRun May is all about raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support. As some of you may know, my dad was diagnosed with cancer a few months ago and he's currently undergoing treatment. My grandad suffered with it until he passed away last year, and I also lost my nan to it. Naturally, it's a cause quite close to my heart.
There are so many people and so many families out there affected by this terrible disease, and Macmillan offers incredible support to those who need it during difficult times. I just want to help them continue to do so.
And that's it! One month, one goal - and just one donation from you, please!! Anything you can give would be massively appreciated. Thank you!
