Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Its strange how events in your past become very significant in the present.
My company BCL Office Moving physically moved the old Nightingale Ward from Withington to the new purpose built building at Wythenshawe. Part of the removal team was Ange's son Mike Bellis. Little did I know then that this unit now known as Genesis would play such a significant part in the lives of my family.
Ange & I have therefore signed up for this to try and help prevent anyone else going through what my sister-in-law (Tracy Jillian Thornley) is going through at the moment. Having spoken to Tracy she asked that we help the Genesis unit with their fundraising. She has done many events for them in the past so we wanted to carry on the good work for her.
On 1st December 2010 at 40 she was diagnosed with breast cancer.
She fought this bravely and everything seemed ok until 1st December 2012 when she was given the devastating news it had come back and was in her spine , pelvis and femur.
The doctors say it is incurable but she isn’t letting that get in her way.
After an operation to remove 4 vertebrae she was up and walking within days, and is now busy helping one of her daughters prepare for her wedding.
She is one of 110 people in Europe on a ground-breaking trial, we are hoping against hope they find a miracle to help end this nightmare.
Also on 28th June Ange's employers BOC are having a Charity Day for this worthy cause , if you know anyone who can give us anything we can auction or sell or put on a tombola or into a Pamper Hamper , Alcohol Hamper, etc please let me know.
