We support treatment, research and care to make our hospitals even better

Story

We're raising funds to support the Royal Manchester Childrens Hospital

My beautiful wife and best friend, Rachel Molloy, died at the age of 36 on 25th April 2019.

Rachel was full term and heavily pregnant with our second child, Isabelle Rachel Molloy, but suffered a ruptured splenic artery aneurysm, an incredibly rare complication of pregnancy, in the entrance of Wythenshawe Hospital.

She never got to meet her gorgeous daughter Isabelle and never got to say goodbye to her son James.

Isabelle was delivered by caesarean section but due to the trauma of the birth together with subsequent traumas, she has suffered catastrophic brain damage. She has spent almost all of her short life either in a hospital or in the care of a medical/developmental professional and would not be alive today if it wasn't for the hard work, determination and compassion of our Health Service, particularly the Royal Manchester Childrens Hospital.

But she is by no means the only child that is so dependant on the Royal Manchester Childrens Hospital and our NHS and I together with my team of kind hearted and slightly crazy friends and family would like to do our part in giving back to the RMCH and help them to continue providing the vital services and support to poorly children and their families.

We plan to do this by running the Manchester Marathon on 5th April 2020 in Rachel's name and in her honour.

I am so amazingly blessed to have such an incredible team of people joining me on this challenge. Each one of them is pushing themselves out of their comfort zone and we would be eternally grateful if you could please donate what you can for such a worthy cause.
