Story
As many of you know, our daughter Orla was stillborn at 37 weeks in May 2016. Her death was unexplained, which is tragically the case for many babies lost at term. To lose your baby is devastating and completely life changing, but to have no explanation makes your loss feel senseless. It also makes any subsequent pregnancy utterly terrifying.
It was in the weeks after Orla's death that we found Tommy's and they gave is hope; hope that someday we would understand why stillbirth happens, hope that the horrendously high numbers of losses will one day reduce and hope that we too could bring home a live baby.
So this is why we fundraise for Tommy's - to support them in their quest to save babies lives and to make pregnancies safer. And in March, we will both push ourselves out of our comfort zones to run the London Landmarks Half Marathon. We are doing this for Orla, with her strong presence in our hearts, and for Esme, because we are so very grateful to have her at home with us.
Please help us to say thank you to Tommy's and to save more babies lives.
