Story
Update - I completed the six 10k races in 2016, so for 2017 my challenge is a half marathon, and I've signed up to run the Vale of York Half on Sunday 10th September. As an extra bonus I've also signed up for the Yorkshire 10 mile in October.
Hello lovely friends! Most of you know that I started running in 2014 - and somehow I've managed to keep on going for a year and a half despite some injuries/illnesses along the way. Recently I decided I'd like to try and raise some money for a worthy cause, so the plan is to start training, and work my way up to eventually (hopefully!) run a WHOLE marathon for charity. Eek. This is likely to take me a couple of years, so along the way I'm going to set myself other challenges. The challenge for 2016 is the Run For All 10k series - I'll be running six 10k races between April and August 2016. After visiting the Lifeboat Station in Portpatrick a couple of times, and being lucky enough to meet some of the lifeboat crew and tour the lifeboat, I decided to try and support the work of the RNLI crew who put their own lives on the line over and over again, and who do this as volunteers.
It would be amazing if you could support me and the RNLI, every penny counts so please donate if you can. Also if you can display a collection tin somewhere, let me know. I'm also on the lookout for anyone who might be up for taking on the Loch Ness Marathon in a couple of years with me - roadtrip, anyone?!
This page will be live until I complete the marathon, so if you would rather wait and see if I actually manage it before donating that's totally fine! (If you do make a donation now, please be aware that there is a chance I might not complete the full marathon for some reason - so please wait if you want to make sure I do! Either way I promise to work and train hard to earn your donations).
