Lots of people are running every day in January for mental health reasons and to raise money for charities. I have decided to do the same and raise money for a local charity which has supported me twice when I have faced my own mental health struggles. The counselling I received from Midlothian Sure Start was a lifeline when I needed it. It is free at the point of access and therefore relies on funding and donations.
I plan to run/jog a minimum of 2 miles every day during January. Running has been so helpful for me in the past to create some headspace and manage anxiety, during the past 6 months I haven't been doing it as much and I really miss it. This challenge is manageable and hopefully will get me back into some good habits!
