I have decided to support this charity again this year because they do incredible work in helping families of children who have suffered from Retinoblastoma, (a rare cancerous tumour which affects infants in one or both eyes, occurring in 40-50 child births every year). The Childhood Eye Cancer Trust (CHECT) is dedicated to providing support to families affected by Retinoblastoma (Rb), funding research and raising awareness.
Having lost an eye to this illness at 18 months old I am aware of some of the challenges which face a family in particular the parents of an infant or toddler. The money raised from this will go directly to the affected families as well as funding research and in doing so create further awareness of the illness.
Last year I ran a 1/2 Marathon in Paddock Wood, Kent and raised £4000. This year with your support to go better again and give this fantastic charity all the help I can.
Your help and support is greatly appreciated.
