Story

My name is Ryan and I'm 11 years old. This will be my 6th Malvern Hills Challenge, I started doing it with Beavers, then Cubs doing the short walk, and this will be my 3rd long walk. I really enjoy taking part and have met some great people too. And I like the bear!

This year I wanted to raise more for Help For Heroes. Today I would have been running my first mini London marathon (the para race) . It is the last 5k of the big marathon and I was so excited. I have hemiplegia, which is a type of cerebral palsy, running is hard sometimes but it makes me stronger and I really enjoy it. I worked hard to get my 5k time under 30min which is what I had to run the mini marathon in. I hope we are allowed to run in October, but they haven't decided about the kids races yet.Today I ran 5k and even had a finish line at home!

Please donate if you can sometime this year to help me get to £262 pounds for Help for Heroes.

UPDATE 25/09/2020: My last cast is off!! On Sunday, 4th October I will be doing my own Malvern Hills Challenge and walking the whole length of the hills. Since the last update I’ve done the 25 day press up challenge, and completed my step challenge! I also walked 100k in a month for a CP Sport Challenge and have done a few virtual 5k walks from races I’d entered that have been cancelled. Being active helps my muscles! Thank you for all of the support and donations, I’m excited to see how high the total goes by the end of this year. Ryan

UPDATE 08/08/2020: Well, the hills challenge has been cancelled and the mini Marathon won't be until October 2021! I've had botox and am starting serial casting next week. I'm not happy about starting secondary school in a cast... And I can't run. BUT, I'm doing the Step2It challenge aiming for 5,000 steps a day since my cast means I can't run. And I'm doing a CP Sport challenge where I need to hit a distance target in a month. That starts on the 15th August. How far shall I go? :). Some of you saw I did the #pressupchallenge too.

I'm still going to do the whole Hills Challenge and will do another 5k on what would have been the rescheduled mini marathon date. Can you help me double my target? :)

Thank you!
