We are the RYLA 2016 participants (from district 1175 - South West Peninsula) and we have created a Community Challenge to raise £5,563 for ShelterBox within 1 year (July 2017).
5,563 is the distance between ShelterBox HQ, at the time, in Helston, to what was their most recent aid in Ecuador. This page will show our efforts and keep you up to date on progress.
There are nearly 30 of us spread out all over the South West and we want to give back to the community that gave us the chance to do this amazing course. We are aiming to organise local events from cake sales to pub quizzes to raise the necessary funds and get the word out there.
This is where you come in. Any amount, no matter how big or how small, will make a difference and we would be very thankful for your support.
ShelterBox is an organisation, set up in Cornwall in 2000, that provides emergency relief to victims of disaster. In each box is a tent designed to withstand extreme weather conditions, water purification kit,
blankets, tools, and other necessities to help a family survive after a disaster. ShelterBox gives people hope and ensures that no family goes without shelter. To find out more about ShelterBox, have a look on their website: https://www.shelterbox.org/
