This will be my only appeal for 2019 - but it will last the whole year through.
My Challenge is to complete the three Iron Man distances each month. So that's 2.4 miles total swimming . 112 miles on a bike and the full Marathon distance run of 26.22 miles.
The reason I've chosen this challenge is that I intend to complete a full Iron Man Triathlon some time before my 70th birthday - so I've got just over 5 years to achieve this. It's also something different for the O2e community to think about.
My pledge is that I will do the distances each month - and if any months I fail, I will donate £100 for that month. To be honest, the swimming and cycling challenges should be easily doable - it's the running that might bite me in the bum. Especially as I've been told by one cardiologist that I shouldn't referee for a while with my diagnosis of chronic heart failure. The main cardio bloke however has always supported my exercise programme, so I'm hoping for a reprieve on that score!!!
What I'm asking from you - my wonderful friends, family, O2e buddies and rugby & cycling colleagues - is that you could find your way to donating a few quid towards the wonderful charity that is O2e. I've set a target for the year of £1000. But I hope to be able to reach that and extend it by a considerable amount.
I will repost this each time I reach one of the monthly element goals, so hopefully that will be three times each month.
