Story
Following the success of my recent Half Marathon, which resulted in a outstanding donation of £5,000 from retailer Very.co.uk (and an appearance on their Christmas TV Advert), I have decided to take my fund raising and fitness journey to the next level.
On 7th April 2019, I will be running the Manchester Marathon to raise money for MNDA.
My Story
Two years ago, Helen, one of my best friends, informed me her mum Vicky had been diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND). Vicky is doing amazing but living with this debilitating disease every single day. Vicky is one of the nicest, kindest, genuine ladies I know and coincidently, Vicky trained to be a nurse with my mum many years ago. Sadly I lost my mum suddenly 15 years ago at the age of 18. Helen has been there for me every single day since and I see this as an opportunity to now support Vicky and the family to fight this harrowing disease.
Motor neurone disease (MND) is a progressive disease that attacks the motor neurones, or nerves in the brain and spinal cord this means messages gradually stop reaching muscles, which leads to weakness.
There is no cure for MND, symptoms have to be managed to help achieve the best quality of life.
It would be massively appreciated if you could show your support and donate to this worthwhile cause. Please give me the pressure to get over that finish line....all 26.2 miles of it!
Thank you,
Sam ❤👏 xxx
