Roald Dahl believed in the importance of children and in helping them overcome life's toughest challenges. He was one of the world’s most imaginative and loved storytellers and he left an enduring legacy. 

Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity helps and empowers every seriously ill child to lead a marvellous life. One way we do this is through establishing specialist Roald Dahl Nurses in hospitals and communities across the UK.

Through out my Birthday month (January) I wanted to take on a challenge to kick off the year with a positive start, despite these already challenging times for us all, but I wanted to also do something that would help others. Children are so important, they are our future and I feel personally that they are the ones who have been most impacted by the current pandemic. But what about all those seriously ill children, how do you think they have been impacted during this pandemic, even more then they already have been, when a child is seriously ill and needs access to a specialist Nurse. I will be honest I don't really like to think about it (it's too upsetting) But actions I do believe speak louder then words, so wanting to help fundraise (whatever I can) for the Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity was a no brainer. 

However I can not do it on my own, I need your help too, I need as many friends, family, friends of friends and friends of family, complete strangers even, to donate/sponsor towards reaching the target of £500. Whilst you guys get busy putting your money to good use, I will be attempting to complete 500,000 steps in January. 

That averages out to just over 16,129 steps a day - My average (even in the months when I ran a lot) is at best just over 15,800 in a month, so this is going to be quite a challenge for me. Just hoping the weather isn't too bad throughout January so I can at least get outside more, otherwise I will be walking round in circles in my flat!
