Thanks for visiting our page. In 2017 we lost a dear friend and colleague who was truly loved - not only for his technical genius but also for his big and generous character.
A bit about the man -
With a PHD in Physics from Université Aix-Marseille II under his belt Samir joined CERN as a post doctoral fellow - dodging high momentum particles, analysing huge data sets and most importantly in his own words "thankfully avoiding creating any microscopic black holes that would potentially swallow the Earth".
Wanting to move into the commercial world, our CTO hired him almost on the spot as our Lead Data Engineer after completing a test which took most candidates a week in just a few hours.
During his time at Infectious Media Samir epitomised the core values of the company and was a role model to all those around him. He was innovative and hard working but also went out of his way to share his knowledge and time to help anyone he could. His wicked sense of humour and zest for life and fun also meant he was an absolute joy to be around at work during and after hours.
A word from his boss -
"His loss is impossible to articulate fully. Although his passing was sudden, I hope that rather than dwelling on the circumstances and timing of his death, we can celebrate and remember his life and passions by coming together to raise money for this great cause which he would have backed 100%."
A bit about the Charity we as a company are coming together to support in Samir's honour -
The name ‘Camara’ comes from the Bantu dialect of West Africa and means ‘teacher’ or ‘one who teaches with experience’.
The main aim is to use technology to deliver 21st century skills to improve education in disadvantaged communities around the world.
