Ok, what's the story?Well, I don't think it takes too much explaining – and I do feel that everybody's beliefs and opinions should be heard – but I just find it incomprehensible. That we still live in a time where people's rights are violated in this barbaric manner, every day, all over the planet. No-one has that kind of right over another human being. It makes me feel so angry, and yet completely helpless. What do you do about / against something like this?
Well, I've decided to do a something, rather than nothing: I'm going to walk home...I work in Oxford and live in London and I commute every day either on the train or on motorbike. I'm also turning the ripe old age of 31 in December. (It gets relevant I promise, just bare with me) So, I've decided, on the night of Friday the 5th of December, instead of cruising down the M40 on my bike, or reading my book enjoying a beer on the train, and then preparing to head out on the lash with my mates to celebrate this occasion, I'm going to take the 70(ish) mile journey home, on foot.
If you are one of those mates who would have been out with me celebrating, and were planning on getting me a gift, or buying me a shot, please, please put that money here.If you are not one of those people - the plead still stands - every pound I can raise will help keep me going when it gets to about 6 in the morning and there's still another 6 hours to go.
