We raise SUDEP & epilepsy risks awareness to prevent deaths & support those bereaved

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

On 21st July, Roger and Sandie will again be pounding the streets of London as part of “Team Becky”.

Since we lost our beautiful young daughter Becky to Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP) in 2004, over 16,000 young lives have been lost to epilepsy in the UK alone – that is 3 lives suddenly taken away and families thrown into turmoil every day. 42% of these deaths could potentially have been avoided with better awareness and management of risk. We have worked with the wonderful charity SUDEP Action for the past 15 years to help them reduce this tragic and unnecessary loss of lives.

You can read Becky’s Story and see what we have been doing recently in Becky’s memory at www.beckysstory.com

Follow the wonderful work carried out by SUDEP Action, including their recent success at the British Medical Journal (BMJ) Awards at www.sudep.org. SUDEP Action, along with their partnership of researchers and clinicians, won the BMJ Education Team of the Year Award 2019 for their EPSMON App for people with epilepsy and the SUDEP & Seizure Safety Check List, both of which help reduce risk and save lives.
