Thank you all for your support

I am now back in the UK after 2 amazing weeks in Ethiopia - and after climbing Ras Dashen of course 

This was probably the hardest thing I have ever done, gruelling long ascents and descents, early starts pretty much every day, and very basic camping facilities. 

But to balance this, we definitely had the best views and sceneries, gorgeous wildlife and of course the best ever group of trekkers imaginable, making the 7 days in the Simian mountain unforgettable. 

We also had a day visiting a community impacted by the work of Save the Children, emotionally charged, meeting mothers and children, and visiting the health centre. Very hard but proving the importance of the projects and the value of our fundraising. The 40 trekkers will be ambassadors for Orange United forever I expect.

INITIAL STORY

I have been selected as one of 40 employees from 25 countries, spread across
GSK’s business, and from all levels of seniority to take on this amazing
challenge. 

Together we will raise £184,000 (or more) for Save the Children, which will be
matched by GSK.  In March 2019, we will spend a life-changing seven days
trekking up to the 4,550m peak of Ras Dashen in the stunning Simien Mountains,
and then visiting a local community to understand more about Save the Children’s
work in Ethiopia.   

But my challenge begins now.  I must start fitness training and, most
importantly, start fundraising.
