Story
I recently visited Meryl and her team at the Newbury Soup Kitchen, she told me her story, and I spoke to some other people there and was amazed how easily things can change which have catastrophic effects on your home life and well-being and which can ultimately end up with you living on the streets.
I was looking for a worthwhile charity since starting the business and I cannot think of a more worthy cause than to help these people that are so desperately in need.
On 5th September 2021, I will be taking part in the Newbury Triathlon to help raise money and shine a light on this brilliant non-profit organization. If you can spare a little something I, Meryl, and all the team at Newbury Soup will be incredibly grateful.
Newbury Soup Kitchen strives to help people by providing a broad spectrum of food and outreach to care for the whole person, physically, emotionally, and socially. Spending time with people who need support, encouragement, and empathy to encourage and help them to reach their full potential in every aspect of their lives.
Working to give vulnerable people in our society a voice. This will help them grow in confidence and enable them to make better life decisions to improve their situation and future.
With this donation, we will be able to carry on providing Food Provision, Outreach, and Support to anyone who needs that extra helping hand.
It is very important to us that everyone is treated with respect, kindness and treated as equals in society, often not experienced by some previously.
We love our work and are committed to strive forward to eventually open a permanent Community Support Centre in the centre of Newbury’.
