We fund bone cancer research & grant wishes to seriously ill people #makingmemories

Story

I've been groom to my 9 year old daughter and her 12.2h pony for the last 5 years and as she came off the lead rein I thought it would be nice to be able to ride out together.  So, I went back to riding just over a year ago having had a break of 20+ years.

I now have a lovely 15.3h ISH mare who is far more ambitious than me but I'm hoping that together we can muddle our way round a BE80(T) event all in one day, and without the need for a crane to get me on or an oxygen break halfway round the XC.  Hopefully one of us will have our eyes open or we will be in trouble before we leave the start box!!!

For those who don't know what a BE80 is, it's a dressage test, an 85cm show jumping course followed by an 80cm cross country course, all in one day.  Apparently I'm meant to stay on and we have to go over the jumps not through them or under them.

Along the way, I'm hoping to raise some money in memory of the inspirational Hannah Francis for her Wilberry Wonder Pony charity which is funding cancer research and providing horsey wishes to very poorly children and teenagers.   Hannah was an amazing young woman who achieved so much in her short life and is an example of what can be achieved in the face of so much adversity.  I'm proud to call myself a Wobbleberry and to be able to support her legacy in some way.

About the charity
