This year is a roll over from last year to raise money again for EnCourage.  The best laid plans of mice and men - and mosquitos (massive bite) put an end to the last half marathon.  I have what I consider to be a fool proof plan.  Instead of running I am doing a three kilometre swim on Wednesday 27 April at Thames Lido. Some of my crack team yoga friends are doing some lengths with me, but I'm not sure they are mad on the whole 120 lengths!

 I have been really successful raising money for EnCourage in the past few years because of the wonderful people who have sponsored me for my runs.  Thank you💖. Let's do it again😃

EnCourage is an exceptional organisation dedicated to providing funding assistance to people wishing to put their cult experience behind them but who cannot fund post cult counselling.

No one knowingly joins a cult - people join them unknowingly.  I know; I was one of them.

Most people are not aware of cults but there are around 2000 active in the UK at this time and so they are all around us.

We all want a feeling of security especially in these challenging times - and for those of us who are curious, we can be drawn into organisations which seem to offer profound experiences and even profounder truths.  Once drawn in it is so hard to escape, physically and or mentally.  Cults can destroy lives, for those who join and for family and friends who care about them.  When people leave, they need a lot of support to understand, process and recover from their experience.

When I take on a sporting challenge, I do so gratefully, knowing I received the best counselling to support me. When I compete, I do it to help others so they have the chance to move into a brighter future.
