Story
In October 2016 my beloved husband, Rob, was diagnosed with a brain tumour. On 5th May 2018 he passed away. He was at home, as he'd wanted, with our family around him - and this was thanks to the support and care provided by the Florence Nightingale Hospice. They were there for us throughout Rob's illness, providing all the things we needed as we discovered we needed them.
Walking the Great Wall of China has been on my bucket list for a long time, and when I discovered that the Hospice were organising a fundraising trek it was something that I felt I just had to do. So, in November 2019 I'm going to be walking for 7-8 hours/day along little-visited parts of the Wall through stunning landscapes with breathtaking views!
I will be running some fundraising events through the year but I'd also really appreciate your sponsorship for the trek itself. I'll post details of the events, and training updates on here.
Thank you so much for your support - both for this and on a day-to-day basis - it is very much appreciated.
Sarah xx
I will be paying all the costs of the trip myself. The £1500 target is the minimum fundraising commitment for the Hospice, but I'd love to raise a whole lot more than this if I can
TONIGHT! 22nd June 2019
After our week in Iceland (where it never got dark!) tonight Chris, Mike and I will be doing the Florence Nightingale Midnight Walk. The 10 mile circular walk starts at midnight and as you know, whilst the walk doesn't worry me - managing to stay awake past 10pm is going to be a real challenge!!
We would really appreciate your sponsorship to spur us on our way in the small hours.
Thank you,
Sarah, Chris and Mike xx
