In December 2019 we very suddenly lost Steve, my husband and dad to Oliver and Sam (then 10 and 7). 

Winston's Wish provided counselling sessions for the boys to support them as they dealt with their emotions during what has been the hardest year. The sessions were clever and interesting and often teary - but they were so important in helping us all to talk about the bereavement and what it meant. The charity will continue to be there for us if the boys need to go back to them as they grow older. I have chosen to run for Winston's Wish as I would love to give a little something back and help them to continue to provide much-needed care and support to other young bereaved people.
