The brilliant Marsha Phoenix Memorial Trust provides safe accommodation for vulnerable young women in London and I'm participating in their 10K fun run in order to help raise money for their annual food and welfare budget. You can read more about their work here: http://www.marshaphoenix.org.uk/
I haven't been for a run since 2001 when I attempted to go for a jog in the snow and ended up on a motorway somewhere near Leamington Spa.
Fortunately for me, this is a relay race and my children and husband can also do some (lots) of the running. Above is a picture of all of us, stationary. The children are still quite small, but Cassie will do anything for an extra episode of Octonauts, and Thea is quite prepared to do her 2.5km as long as she is then allowed to throw the WiFi router in the toilet every day for a week.
