Story
I’m taking on my very first Kiltwalk to raise funds for Amma Birth Companions.
Amma supports vulnerable birthing people in Glasgow by providing companionship, peer support, education and advocacy during pregnancy, birth and into early parenthood. Many of the people we support are facing this monumental change in life entirely alone. Over half speak little or no English, are new to Glasgow and the healthcare system. I can't imagine how scary it must be to be facing parenthood in this way - without anyone to give me physical, emotional and practical support.
The incredible work that the staff and volunteers at Amma do goes a very long way to making this journey easier and helps to build a strong foundation for both parent and baby.
Every penny I raise will be topped up by 50% thanks to the generosity of Sir Tom Hunter and The Hunter Foundation.
Any donation you can spare will mean the world to me and the brilliant team at Amma.
Thank you!
