Story
I am one of a team of 10 Civil Service interns raising money for Anthony Nolan, and we need your help to get the ball rolling!
To raise awareness of some of the effects that leukaemia, and the current treatment methods for it, have on people, I will be shaving off my hair! Hair loss is one of the most notorious symptoms of chemotherapy and, as a team, we believe that an important element of raising awareness for this terrible disease, is through showing solidarity and unity with the people who have to suffer for their right to live.
That is why I am shaving my head. For me, this is a matter far deeper than simply raising awareness but one of showing unity and solidarity with the people who are victims of leukaemia, and cancer in general.
My hair will be shaved off by Toni and Guy's Covent Garden branch, who have kindly agreed to do this for free, on the 16th August (next Tuesday). Photos of this will be provided shortly.
I hope that you will join me in showing solidarity by donating to Anthony Nolan here. The proceeds will go directly to Anthony Nolan, we have until the 8th September to raise money for Anthony Nolan so
please do join us in this ambitious task!
Many thanks on behalf of the Civil Service SDIP Anthony Nolan Fundraising Team,
