I was born and grew up in Batticaloa. It’s a very beautiful part of Sri Lanka and very close to my heart.

The impact of the civil war has left the area and community to be rebuilt. There are many children and families who need our support to restart their lives and if I can contribute a small amount to the people back at home I'll be more than happy to help.

Tamil Aid has done a lot of charity work to help those in this region and when I spoke to the indivduals whom run this charity their passion for what they believed in made me want to take this commitment to raise money for this charity.

I have been training since Jan 2013 and have almost clocked up to 500km now in the gym and also have been training outdoors. I think with more training I can expect to finish this 10km in about 50 minutes if not sooner.

I hope I can raise enough money to make a difference in the area.
