Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This is a picture of my truely amazing son, Carlton, He is now aged 17 and spent his life battling this awful disease without a single complaint. Always has a smile and will take time to help anyone. Aged just 5 when he was diagnosed with his first brain tumour which was followed by surgery and 6wks of radiotherapy. Left with a weakness on his leftside, memory loss and epilepsy we were happy as we thought we had beat this cancer.. Only to be diagnosed yet again 10yr later on carltons 16th Birthday. Once again our world had crumbled around us but not for carlton, who somehow managed to keep us all together with his amazing strength and love. Yet again we had to face surgery followed by 6weeks of tomotherapy (radiotherpy). During all of this he smiled joked and fought it with dignity only to find he had yet another tumour growing in his neck which was also removed by surgery. His shark bite is what he says the scar is caused by. We finally managed to have a wonderful christmas with our family and friends trying to get life back on track, then bang january 2012 on a routine scan date it has shown 2 new dots in his brain, we are now waiting for 3month to gives these dots time to grow/or not!! We are praying that these are cysts as it is the better option for my carlton, People have done so much for us, fighting to keep my carlton alive so this year i have chosen to raise money for this amazing charity which is very close to our hearts.... Since i 1st shared my story, carlton has had another scan and the 2 dots have grown to around 1cm each! After having meetings with his consultant and surgeon it has been decided that the risk to carlton is just to high at this time to operate and to try and get them out so we are scanning him again in august, We have time to let them grow alittle more, carlton is having what they call absences (fits) so we are having EEG's and are deciding if we need to change his medication, So we are in a very uncertain place at the moment but we still have hope....
