Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My beautiful niece was born on 7th November 2012 a normal, happy baby, and perfect. 2 weeks later the midwife was worried about Macy's colour and my sister was sent to hospital where it was discovered that she had a condition called hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Macy was rushed to The Royal Brompton. At just 3 weeks old Macy had open heart surgery. Macy fought every day for 3 weeks but on Thursday 20th December Macy died in her Dad's arms.
At the time of Macy's death I was morbidly obese, how dare I walk around with a perfectly good heart which I was not looking after when Macy fought everyday to stay alive with her poorly one. I have now lost 6 stone, am nearly at my goal weight and am the fittest I have ever been.
I am raising money for the Royal Brompton through our charity Team Macy. I am terrified of heights but I wanted to do something different for Macy, something I would not have had the courage to do when Macy was here and would probably not have been able to due to my weight. So I am Abseiling off of the ArcelorMittal Orbit on the 16th of July with my sister, Helen (Macy's mum), for moral support (or to laugh at me when I can't let go!)
