Story

Thank you for visiting Shelly's Transplant Recovery fundraising page.

On 7 February 2009 Rachael and her sister Shelly will be holding a fund raising party to raise money for the hospital which saved Shelly's life. It will mark five years since Shelly's emergency liver transplant and Rachael's 30th birthday.

Following Shelly's transplant on 21 January 2004 she has made an incredible recovery. It is a real milestone to reach five years on and to note how well Shelly is doing and how grateful we all are to Addenbrooke's.

This is our chance to give something back and to thank Shelly's donor and his family, without whom Shelly wouldn't be here.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to donate to Addenbrooke's Charitable Trust (ACT) - Ward C9 (the Liver Transplant Ward) who will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Shelly was given the gift of life - now it's your chance to say thank you!

Many thanks for your support.

About the charity

We want to ensure that every patient at Addenbrooke's and the Rosie hospitals experiences the highest quality of care available. We raise funds for cutting edge technology, additional specialist staff and extra comforts for patients, over and above what is possible with NHS funding alone.
