Story

The challenge

On July 26, our team "Shut Up Legs" will set out at the crack of dawn to conquer the Gurkha Challenge - walk 100km in 30 hours or less (a distance of approximately 2.3 marathons).

Set up by the legendary Gurkhas in 1981 to test teamwork, endurance and determination, the course from Petersfield to Brighton through the beautiful South Downs will prove the ultimate physical and mental challenge to four flabby friends.

The goal

While a feat in itself, the challenge is a tiny part of this story.

In 2013, TrailWalker teams raised an incredible £1m for Oxfam and The Gurkha Welfare Trust. This time around we want to play a part in helping achieve a 2014 goal of £1.5m.

Any money donated will help provide life-changing support to poor people worldwide.

"Your name is pretty weird..."

The name refers to a catchphrase from German cycling legend Jens Voigt. Despite often being the oldest rider in the field, Jens is loved for digging so deep in every race...no matter what his body is telling him.

Powered by our inner Jens and your donations, we can say "Shut up legs! Shut up body!"
