We support research at St Mark's Hospital to drive clinical improvements for patients

Story

Last year I managed 4 triathlons and a half marathon.  I raised around £5,000 for intestinal failure research at St Mark's.  The quest continues (as long as my joints allow).  Unfortunately I got Achilles tendonitis earlier in the year and this slowed me down a little ... but I am now back on track and will be doing ....

6th June: Blenheim Triathlon (750m swim, 20km cycle & 5km run)***COMPLETED*** (1h 43mins). This was really wet! there was a thunderstorm with serious rain! I survived and finished in a reasonable time (for me)

4th July: Eton SteelManTriathlon (1.5km swim, 40km cycle & 10km run)

8th August: London Triathlon (1.5km swim, 40km cycle & 10km run)

1-3rd October: Cycle from the Hope Hospital, Manchester to St Mark's Hospital, London (240miles) This is in development. I am aiming to support a remarkable patient who is kayaking the same route.  The 2 Nationally funded Intestinal Failure units are connected by the Grand Union canal and he is going to kayak the distance over 3 weeks and negotiate his intravenous nutrition as well!
