Story

Wolves fans and Wolverhampton community groups are backing the Sir Jack Hayward Statue project, with a special fundraising campaign.

Members of the Wolves Fans Parliament, Wolves Disabled Supporters Association, Wolves Former Players Association, Business Leaders and other supporters have approached the Club and City of Wolverhampton Council with a range of ideas to contribute to the project.

The current cost estimate of the Sir Jack Statue - along with associated ground works – is £250,000.

The aim will be  to help fund this amount, along with a
special plaque to reflect the fans and community’s contribution.

Steve Galloway, member of the Wolves Fans Parliament and
Wolves supporter
, said. “At a Wolves Fans
Parliament meeting a number of months ago, I raised an idea of a ‘tenner for Sir Jack’ on behalf of a fellow fan.

“Sir Jack sold the Club for £10 and it’s the symbolic act
of those fans, who can afford it, donating that amount or whatever they can spare
,
to help create a very special statue
for the great man.

“We want the statue, which will hopefully exist for many,
many years, stating that it was helped and supported by Wolves fans and the community.”
