Story

As some of you know, our wonderful & loving Father had been living with Parkinson's Disease for over 20 years. The last 6 months of his life saw a rapid deterioration in his condition. On the 31st December, 2016, after a long, very brave & dignified fight, our Dad, Michael Hall, peacefully passed away.

Parkinson's Disease was the monster that stole him from us. Carefully picking away until there was nothing left to take. We decided, back in the Summer, before his death, that we would take on a 50km walk across the South Downs in order to raise funds for Parkinson's UK. Little did we know that by the Winter, we would also be doing this in his memory.

We ask you to please support us in our quest to raise funds for Parkinson's UK by donating towards our challenge. This 50km walk, in August, will be the longest of our walks so far - coming in at just over 31miles (our longest to date has been a marathon, at 26.2miles). This will also be on a new type of terrain for us - a far cry from the "easy" streets of London. We will need new footwear, new equipment & a new training schedule. It will not be easy at all. But, in many ways, it shouldn't be easy. It should be hard. We should be working to earn our donations. We should be working to help Parkinson's sufferers in any way. We should be working hard for Dad.

We have separate fundraising pages that feed in to a team page, so we shall both keep you updated on our training, progress, achievements, failures and stories along the way. We hope to be able to smash our fundraising target, even more than we will smash ourselves with this challenge. Each of our pages has a target of £275, with a combined fundraising target of £550.

Every blister, every cry of pain, every hobble, limp and ache will be for you, Dad.

All our thanks, in advance, for your support...
