Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our Just Giving page.

We are taking on a series of epic challenges and would really appreciate your support.

We are human and injuries out of our control have altered some of the challenges we are enduring. There are new exciting challenges ahead.

In 2018 I succeeded in skydiving at Netherhavon Airfield . Wow what an incredible experience that was. Mind blowing, magical, terrifying and life changing!!

David Harper-Smith smashed the RAT RACE - MAN vs MOUNTAIN up and over Mount Snowdon!! This was a hard core grueling race for 20 miles up and over Mount Snowdon in Wales. Truly epic.

The new challenges being added this year are Simon Moore running 100km Race To The Stones! This is a gruelling race from start to finish.

I will be climbing the highest mountain in South East Asia Mount Kinabalu. My biggest challenge will be persuading my body that it is possible despite all its daily challenges which I manage following cancer treatment 12 years ago. This will be a monumental challenge for me personally.

This Challenge has been brought together to raise funds for IAPWA (International Aid for the Protection and Welfare of Animals) Please see  a little more detail on the incredible Borneo Projects below that we will be supporting.

Thousands of dogs and cats in Borneo have no owner to feed them or provide them with a safe place to sleep. When they are ill they have no owner to care for them so as they get the treatment they need. Under these conditions, many would live just a few years during which they would struggle to survive.

IAPWA have been working in Borneo since 2009 to change this and are a lifeline for these animals through our management of the government dog pound, the support our veterinary team provides to local sanctuaries and our outreach programmes in remote regions.

Through the support we receive we can save lives and prevent so much suffering and with your help we can continue providing this lifeline in Borneo and help even more animals that need us.

This year we are expanding the services we provide through building the first indoor veterinary clinic specifically for the strays in Borneo. This will provide us with additional facilities to use alongside what we already achieve within the other sites we manage and our outreach programmes. Your support for this challenge will enable us to purchase much needed equipment and drugs to ensure even more dogs and cats can get the care they need and help us to save more lives for strays who rely on the support we provide.

Just £3 enables one dog to receive a potentially lifesaving vaccination against a range of diseases.  £5 funds for food for a patient for 2 weeks, with £10 enabling one more dog to be neutered, preventing many puppies from being born to suffer.  £30 would fund for more blankets to ensure the comfort of our patients, with £50 giving a lifeline to another stray needing help for their skin disease or wounds.  With larger donations we can also purchase much needed veterinary equipment and supplies to assist with the work that they do.

With your support we can make a big difference for animals who desperately need and deserve the lifeline IAPWA provide.

We believe when we all pull together and unite as a team we really can make a difference in the world.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking the time to read our page.
