We help blind and partially sighted people to break down the barriers of sight loss

Story

The RNIB is a great charity helping blind and partially sighted individuals to live a normal and independent life. They offer an array of gadgets and gizmos to aid blind people in their everyday activities and hobbies, such as making a cup of tea using a liquid level indicator or Braille playing cards. Such small things as this a sighted person would be forgiven for taking for granted. As well as practical support the RNIB also provides emotional support for friends, relatives and individuals facing sight loss.

They have helped Warren Wilson from our group in many ways. He lost a considerable about of his eyesight two years ago whilst taking his A Levels exams when it became known he suffers from a rare genetic condition called Leber's Hereditary Optic Neuropathy. With help from great charities such as the RNIB Warren has continued to have a normal life and is now about to start his second year at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge studying History.

We believe the RNIB is such a great charity we're willing to throw ourselves out of a plane and shout it from the skies. We just hope you would like to make a donation to make it all worthwhile.

About the charity

Every day 250 people in the UK start losing their sight. With your help, we can be there when people need us most, support independent living, create an inclusive society and prevent avoidable sight loss. Every pound you raise will help create a future where sight loss is no longer a barrier.
