I am raising money to fund a workshop for people that are either learning or relearning to play the guitar after spinal injury.

Celebrated slide guitarist Tom Doughty is visiting Belfast on 29^th October to hold a workshop for those with spinal injuries who are interested in the lap slide techniques that he has picked up over the years.

An amateur guitarist before an accent that left him tetraplegic, Tom spent many years relearning and inventing ways in which to play the guitar without the need for finger movement and has gained an international following.

Tom will also be performing at the Black Box on 30^th October blending his own improvisational style with influences such as 1920s blues, Marvin Gaye, Cole Porter, the Beatles and Randy Newman to name a few to create a unique experience for the listener.  More details can be found online at:

The workshop and gig are being organised with the aid of Arts Care NI, a unique Arts and Health Charity based in Northern Ireland and funds raised through this JustGiving event will allow them to continue to work in partnership with the Health and Social Care Trusts throughout Northern Ireland.
