Story

I would firstly like to thank you for your previous interest and support for our school which provides specialist teaching for children with moderate to severe autism. We are delighted to inform you that we will be celebrating our 10th Anniversary in July of this year.

We are extremely proud that Snowflake has had an OFSTED inspection under the new OFSTED framework, and achieved ‘Outstanding’ across the school, with every child achieving outstanding progress, which is the highest tier of merit that an Ofsted inspection can award. The report of our last inspection is available on our website at:  www.snowflakeschool.org.uk.

Your kind support over the years has enabled us to build Snowflake into a successful institution, with a reputation that has spread to the rest of Europe and beyond. Serious work has also taken place in order to create a second school, which we intend to call Snowflake II. This is not only a reflection of the great demand that we have encountered for our services, but also a tribute to the outstanding work of our staff, and in particular our head teacher, and the support that we have received over the past decade from our Trustees.

Along the way, we have continuously improved our services and as part of that, we have acquired many provisions that aid in sparking the children’s interests and make the learning process a safer and more enjoyable one for them. These provisions include items such as educational resources, IT resources such as iPads and laptops, a completely upgraded playground, sensory room resources and numerous school trips. Snowflake has also continuously invested in essential training for our staff.

At this ten-year milestone, Snowflake is planning to introduce some improvements to our current premises. These include upgrading all of our fire doors to enhance security and converting a disused room into a library and occupational therapy room, both of which are now essential. We are also looking to purchase new sensory toys, soft mats and bean bags. We estimate that the cost of these improvements will be £15,000.

Your support in achieving this goal would be greatly appreciated.
