Story
Thank you for Visiting the Somervale School JustGiving page.
Between Monday 11th January and Friday 18th March, Somervale staff and students will be actively involved in Sport Relief 2016. Somervale School has launched a 'Walk the World Challenge' wherein staff and students will share the common goal of completing 117,867 laps of the astro turf which equates to the circumference of the Earth. While this may be a large target, we believe that it will encourage students to become more active for a good cause.
Head Teacher Alun Williams has pledged an initial contribution which has created a fantastic prize pool for our students. The more laps that students complete, the greater chance they have of winning some fantastic prizes. while these prizes provide incentives for our students, we also hope that the common goal of helping others will motivate students to participate in 'Walk the World'.
We hope that the school community will embrace the challenge and are under no illusions that 117,867 laps will be easy! Somervale is looking forward to a culture of togetherness , higher activity levels and the chance to raise money for young people who are not afforded the same opportunities as most.
